JAROMÍR SCHEJBAL is a grammar school teacher of music, choral singing and geography at Gymnázium Boženy Němcové in Hradec Králové.
Music has been Jaromír’s beloved occupation since his youth. He was a member of the renown children’s choirs of Královéhradecký dětský sbor Jitro and Boni pueri, and the mixed choir Smetana. He graduated from the University of Hradec Králové giving a graduation concert as a singer and he founded Cantabile, a children’s choir at Habrmanova primary school in Hradec Králové, which he led and conducted for 9 years.
At present, Jaromír is a choirmaster of women’s chamber choir Vokální harmonie and students’ chamber choir Gybon. Both choirs collaborate regularly with Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, tour throughout Europe and receive high awards at choral contests and festivals. Since 1990, Jaromír has recorded 7 CDs with his choirs.
Jaromír has a liking for popular music as well – he performs with dance music orchestra Fontána as a singer. He is the chair of Hudební mládež HK association (Jeunesses Musicales). For many years he has been a jury member at various choral competitions assessing young talented musicians. Jaromír is a member of National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture NIPOS ARTAMA for high school choral singing in the Czech Republic.
